There are weddings, and then there are weddings that feel like they stepped straight out of a storybook. Fiona and Andrew’s celebration at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library was just that, a romantic, heartfelt, flower-filled dream nestled into 1,000 acres of lush gardens, winding paths, and historic charm. But what made this day really unforgettable? Fiona and Andrew. The coolest, kindest duo, who made this celebration not only beautiful, but deeply joyful, creative, and full of heart.
The day kicked off with energy and excitement as the couple and their wedding party gathered under the dappled shade of Winterthur’s iconic architecture. Fiona was glowing in a classic A-line gown adorned with delicate appliqué florals, holding a bouquet that looked freshly plucked from a garden meadow. Her bridesmaids wore vintage-inspired floral dresses in a soft pastel palette that made everything feel delightfully romantic and very Bridgerton-coded.
Meanwhile, Andrew, dapper in a deep green suit (yes, green — and it looked phenomenal), popped champagne with his groomsmen in a moment that felt equal parts “fashion editorial” and “spontaneous celebration.” The vibes were set.
A Ceremony in the Gardens of Dreams
Guests arrived to an outdoor ceremony setup that was nothing short of breathtaking. Rows of chairs curved gently around a floral arch, shaded by chic white umbrellas. Beyond the ceremony space, layers of sculpted gardens and topiary stretched into the horizon. You could feel the love in the air, and not just from the couple. Every guest felt this wedding.
The Reception: A Garden Party Wonderland
Walking into the tented reception felt like entering a secret garden at golden hour. The structure was draped in florals and greenery, with cascading wisteria, romantic lighting, and a full-sized tree growing through the center of the tent. Yes, a tree inside the tent. If The Secret Garden and The Met Gala had a lovechild, it would be this reception.
Long tables were covered in lush arrangements of blush, peach, lilac, and buttery blooms. Velvet seating, soft pillows, layered textures, and curated furniture vignettes gave the space a warm, lived-in luxury — like the kind of garden dinner party you’d dream about hosting in another lifetime.
The Penny Wall: Good Luck, Sealed with a Wish
The seating chart was also an experience: guests picked up envelopes from a massive, wall papered floral wall, each containing a lucky penny and a sweet wish for the newlyweds. The sign read: “See a penny, pick it up. Wish the bride and groom good luck.” Whimsical. Sentimental. So very Fiona and Andrew.
A Dance Floor Under the Stars
Their first dance was pure magic — held under a canopy of fairy lights and flowering branches, on a custom green-and-white dance floor that perfectly echoed the garden theme. With all their favorite people cheering them on, Fiona and Andrew laughed, swayed, and whispered to each other like no one else was there. It was a moment that was beautiful not just because of how it looked, but because of how it felt.
Fiona and Andrew, your wedding was the kind of day that makes people believe in magic. Thank you for bringing your creativity, joy, and wildly cool personalities to every single detail. Winterthur will never be the same.
